People are wondering whether the World Fantasy Award should be changed given Lovecraft's views on race, and even Heinlein remains problematical for many readers. What do we do about authors whose political, religious, gender and racial views we find objectionable? Do we view their work solely on its own? Do we make allowances for cultural standards in past times or other places - as with Shakespeare?   If we hold to our standards, are we rejecting a good work unjustly?
